* Opportunity to buy a huge range of apps (and games) for various features.

iPod Touch 3rd Generation Vs. 4th Generation

If you are considering to upgrade, it's important to realize what's changed and what remained when it comes to the iPod Touch.

First, the screen was given an upgrade and boasts the same detail like the iPhone 4. It now has a brand new Retina Display, and the resolution has upgraded from 320 x 480 to 960 x 640px. This is an important upgrade to individuals who love to watch videos or play games using the iPod Touch.

Unlike the 3rd generation, the new iPod Touch now features a rear facing and front facing camera. The former is to use the FaceTime app for video calls when connected over Wi-Fi, the latter is for pictures and video. For a decerning photographer, the camera could use some improvements in quality.

Pros

Truth be told, there aren't really any MP3 players that can compare to the iPod Touch. It's simply more than an MP3 player (with a price tag to match). You are able to play games on it, download business apps, productivity apps, have video calls, listen to music, surf the web and much more! Apple definitely has the edge when it concerns the huge range of apps readily available to purchase and download for free from the app store.

Cons

As noted above, the camera isn't of good quality (under 1 megapixel) so do not look forward to get astonishing shots. Useful though when you don't have a camera with you, and it's good at recording videos.

Apart from this, if you are a PC user then you might not be happy that you have to course the iPod Touch via iTunes to transfer music and other files - which a lot of people report as clunky. ITunes works way better if you run it on the Mac.

Is The iPhone 4 A Must Buy?

The iPod Touch is always being compared head to head with the iPhone, as they have the same interface and typically similar features. However, the big difference must be whether you already require a new phone or not. If you do, and you likewise need the features of an iPod, then it's well worth purchasing the iPhone 4 instead.

Again, one major drawback is the price! The iPhone 4 will set you back perhaps hundreds of dollars greater than the iPod Touch, which makes the latter an excellent choice for anybody who's already got a phone or simply wants a cheaper one to save money.
