Nokia XM 5800 vs Nokia XM 5235

Recently my friend bought a Nokia 5800 navigation edition and couldnt stop praising and adoring it. He was in doubt on what mobile he should get. His budget was Rs.10, 000/- which isnt less but not too much with respect to the things we have in this world of gadgets.

He asked me about several mobiles (Smartphones in particular) and I suggested him many from HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericson, Nokia and Motorola. Finally he told me that he would go for Nokia (something he has in his mind that Nokia is much more dependable than any other mobile industry in India).

So we came across Nokia Xpress Music 5800 navigation edition and Nokia Xpress Music 5235. Both phones are basically the same but price difference cant be ignored. Nokia XM 5235 is available for Rs.9500/- while he bought Nokia XM 5800 navigation edition (finally) for Rs.13,400/-. Now, you must have gotten a faint idea on how nice this mobile is, that he could raise his budget from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.13,400/-.

Ill list few major features which are not common in these mobiles. First of all, Nokia XM 5235 doesnt have a Wi-Fi which can be considered as a must have nowadays. Secondly, it offers only 2 MP camera without flash, which is a no-go for photo lovers. Then, it offers no secondary camera for video calling feature (it does have 3G band). With 3G in the market, it would be hard to resist the urge of video calling your mates. Thats why a secondary camera is must, even Steve Jobs knew it was a must have for their new iPhone 4. Battery life is weaker than Nokia XM 5800 navigation edition.

Rest is same for both the phones (nearly). Processor speed, 3.2 resistive touch screen, 16M colors, 3.2 mm audio jack, 3G, etc. So, our conclusion was, we must go for Nokia XM 5800 navigation edition. An increase of Rs.3400/- was manageable.

Apple Iphone vs Apple Ipod Touch - A Review

Back in the summer of 2007 Apple introduced its darling, the Apple iPhone. It was being seen as the most revolutionary high tech gadget of its time. However, at the same time Apples iPod Touch with virtually all the same bells and whistles as the iPhone except for the cell phone feature, was barely heard from. Let's take a look at both and compare:

Is Cheaper Better? It seems that this holiday season the cheaper, thinner iPod Touch has been the favorite among many consumers. Given this current economy and the price point of the iPod Touch at anywhere from $180 to $399 depending on memory capacity it seems to be the bigger hit than the iPhone. The iPod Touch can do just about anything the iPhone can, for that much cheaper price. Both run the multi-touch interface and both can run almost all of the programs in the Apple Apps store. That is over 100,000 Apple apps at last count.

Do You Need Cellular? The biggest difference in the iPod Touch to the iPhone is that the iPod Touch does not work over a cellular network. An iPod Touch needs to be near a Wi-Fi hotspot, a wireless network available in many places. The iPod Touch needs this Wi-Fi to be able to go online or to download Apple apps. Fortunately, Wi-Fi is becoming more available to consumers. Many have them in their homes and they can be found at offices, airports, and coffee bars. Many of these places charge either very little, a couple of bucks or give you free access to their Wi-Fi.

Data Network Burdens: With the iPhone you are committed to using AT&Ts cellular network. That commitment of at least two years can cost an iPhone user about $100 in monthly cellular charges. Recent announcements by AT&T of the extra burden the iPhone has put on their data network have also made some people hesitant to commit. Their have been reports of frequently dropped calls and spotty Internet connections in bigger cities such as New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

In Conclusion: Consumers who are wary of Apples iPhone, AT&T commitment have found ways around their cellular need. Many are sticking with their old cellular phone and buying the less expensive iPod Touch for downloading and going online. Others are waiting as many of the iPhone features such as multi-touch interfacing and expanding apps to be available on future smart phones.

Reasons Why You Should Never Buy An iPhone 3GS

This article will attempt to show you how you would be better off buying one of the other smartphones that are currently sold at the same price as the Apple iPhone 3GS or at even lower prices than the iPhone.

Inability to Multitask: It is almost impossible to believe that the smartphone touted as the hottest and best mobile device in the world can only run one application at a time. That the iPhone 3GS cannot multitask in this age of advanced communications is ONE colossal reason why a discerning consumer read human should not buy it. Even the Nokia 3230, sold back in 2005 had users playing games over Bluetooth connections while playing music on their individual phones, and those users would still have a number of applications running in the background. This 3230 did not possess up to a quarter of the hardware and hype that the iPhone boasts of.

Lack of Bluetooth Compatibility with Other Devices: The iPhone 3GS lacks true Bluetooth capability as its Bluetooth can only be used with a headset on the iPhone. It cannot be used to transfer files like all other devices with Bluetooth technology are capable of. You certainly cannot use it to play games with a friend by creating a Bluetooth connection like a lot of cheaper smartphones can.

Lack of Physical Keypad: The fact that the iPhone 3GS does not come with a physical keypad makes typing a real chore when using it. The iPhones competitors mostly feature keypads that can be easily revealed by sliding them out and these make typing long text a lot easier. If you are wearing gloves because it is cold, the iPhones virtual keypad will not work.

Lack of Support for Adobe Flash and Java: Apple must simply love to mess with its iPhone users if it refuses to allow support for technology that:

Adobe Flash is the technology that makes it possible for websites to display those flashing videos that make their pages more attractive. Java allows the utilization of fantastic but lightweight mobile applications and cool web apps. But no, Mr. Steven Jobs says you cannot have them.

Lack of an In-built FM Tuner: Users of the iPhone must surely get tired of listening to their own music collections all the time and definitely, not everyone wants to pay money to listen to the radio (even if it just 99 cents). The added requirement of having an internet connection before one can simply listen to the radio should be a big hassle for everyone except of course, the die-hard iPhone lovers out there. The iPhones competitors (especially Nokia) can boast of FM tuners in almost every phone they sell and certainly make their devices a lot more functional than the iPhone will ever be.

Lower Screen Resolution: Compared to its current competitors such as the Motorola Droid, Samsung Omnia, and so on; the screen on the iPhone might well have been developed by John Logie Baird. It is way behind when its screen resolution is equated with that of the other smartphones in its league.

Lower Camera Resolution: The iPhone 3GS boasts of a measly 3.15-megapixel camera. Just to keep it simple, how about this: The Motorola Droid and Samsung Omnia both have 5-megapixel cameras (plus flash).

Lack of Camera Flash: Taking pictures in a dimly-lit environment with an iPhone 3GS is a big waste of time - despite Apples claims of certain software it has built into the iPhone to improve picture-taking in such situations. Its competitors all have camera flash and certainly produce brighter pictures when the need arises.

Lack of True Ownership of Device: Let us count the following ways in which Apple still owns your iPhone 3GS even after you have paid for it in full:

- The only applications you can install on your iPhone are those Apple says you can and which you have to buy from its App Store.

- The only way to get music into your iPhone would be to use the Apple iTunes software. Apple also expects you to buy a lot of those songs from its online iTunes music store.

- You are required to return your iPhone back to Apple for minor issues such as having the battery changed and which it proceeds to do for a steep fee.

- It dictates which phone service provider that you can use with your iPhone.

So there you have it. The above is a fairly exhaustive description of the Apple iPhone 3GSs shortcomings but it seems there are few more points that could have been added. Maybe those issues will be held in reserve for another salvo when the time is right. Thank providence for jail-breaking.

Addendum: Better smartphones available for about the same price as the Apple iPhone 3GS include the Motorola Droid, Samsung Omnia, Palm Pre, Google Nexus, HTC range of phones, and a lot more.

Be Smart. Choose Wisely. Never Buy An iPhone.

Phone Comparison: Apple iPhone 3GS vs. Motorola Droid

The iPhone is Apples first foray into the production of mobile phones and was released in January 2007. Apple has released three generations of the iPhone since then, which include the iPhone Original, iPhone 3G and the current iPhone 3GS. The iPhone was named the Invention of 2007 by Time magazine and has been hailed as the best smartphone available. Amidst all the hype and hoopla surrounding the iPhone, Motorola - the company that invented the first mobile phone - released its own competitor to the iPhone called the Droid in November 2009. The Motorola Droid has also been the subject of intense hype and media reports and reviews. A lot of people are speculating on whether it can knock the iPhone off its perch as the number one smartphone to own and therefore, it is only right that someone compares both phones so that a clear picture of their capabilities can be seen. Enjoy the review.

Firstly, a look at what makes both phones tick.

Operating System: The Apple iPhone 3GS runs on the iPhone OS version 3.1.2 which is similar to the Mac OS X operating system. The Motorola Droid runs on the Google Android version 2.0 which is based on Linux. The Android allows Java applications, Adobe Flash and a host of other technologies to be run on the Droid; while the iPhone OS is not compatible with some of technologies which are currently widely available. The Android allows you to customize your Droid as you want and install whichever applications you like. The iPhone OS requires applications which have been created explicitly for the iPhone. The Android also features multitasking which the iPhone OS has not currently implemented.

Processor: The iPhone 3GS has a Samsung S5PC100 ARM Cortex-A8 processor which runs at 600 MHz. The Droid features a TI OMAP 3430 Arm Cortex-A8 processor which runs at 550 MHz.

Power: Both the iPhone 3GS and the Droid have an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The Droids battery is removable and can be replaced by the user. The iPhones battery is non-removable and can only be replaced by Apple. The iPhone has up to 5 hours of 3G talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. The Droid has up to 6.4 hours of 3G talk time and up to 270 hours of standby time.

Storage Capacity: The iPhone 3GS features only flash memory in sizes of 16GB or 32GB.The Droid features flash memory up to 512MB and comes with an included 16GB microSD which is expandable to 32 GB.

Now, to compare what we can actually see.

Screen: The iPhone 3GS has a 3.5 inch LCD touchscreen. The Droid has a slightly larger 3.7 inch WVGA touchscreen. The Droid has an 854 x 480 pixel display (265 pixels per inch) which is higher than the iPhones 320 x 480 display (163 pixels per inch). Both phones allow multi-touch gestures using the bare hand. The iPhone has an accelerometer that can detect the orientation of the device in the users hand and change the screen display between portrait and landscape modes accordingly.

Camera: The iPhone 3GS comes with a 3.0 megapixel camera while the Droid has a 5.0 megapixel camera. The Droid also comes equipped with flash. Both cameras are equipped with low light capabilities that allow clear pictures to be taken in low light conditions. Both phones also feature video recording and the iPhone has video editing features.

Keyboard: The iPhone 3GS has a touchscreen keyboard which can be used in both portrait and landscape modes. The Droid has a physical keyboard which is revealed when the touchscreen is slid up.

Price: The iPhone 3GS sells for $199 when you purchase it with an AT&T phone contract and sells for $599 without a contract. The Droid sells for $199 when purchased with a Verizon phone contract and sells for $599 without a contract.

Network Carrier: The iPhone is only available on the AT&T network while the Droid is only available on the Verizon network.

Other Features

Both phones feature Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS navigation and voice commands. Applications can be added to the iPhone 3GS by purchasing and downloading them from the Apple App Store which has up to 100,000 applications. The iPhone has to be hacked (called Jailbreaking) before it can accept applications from other sources. Applications can be added to the Droid from the Android Market which has up to 13,000 applications. Other applications from other sources can also be added to the Droid.

Find the Best iPhone Case at a Great Price

One of the most important accessories that you will choose after purchasing your iPhone3G will be a case to protect it. Many people choose to not use a case because the iPhone 3G feels so great in your hands. However, the iPhone's screen is glass and can be broken. A case can't prevent all breakage, but it can reduce the risk.

Following are the steps to help you choose your iPhone case:

Step 1: First, you will want to decide which type of case you would like. Among the choices are leather, hard plastic, rubberized and soft silicone. The best way to decide this is to go to an AT&T or Apple store, a mall kiosk that sells phone cases and Wal-Mart or Best Buy.

You will also need to choose between a case that snaps around your phone and is not easily removed, a leather case that your iPhone will slip into (and will also easily slip out of!), cases that can be attached to a belt (usually leather), and soft silicone cases that can be easily removed.

Step 2: Once you chosen a style, you need to pick a color. You can ask the store employees if the case comes in different colors, but that often just tells you which colors that store carries.

The manufacturers often make other case colors. If you can find out the manufacturer's name, you can try to find their website through a google search. If you can't get the manufacturer's name, you will have to search by description to find it online (can be much harder).

The cell phone accessory kiosks in malls often have a large selection of iPhone cases in a dizzying number of colors. You might have a harder time finding out the manufacturer from them, however.

Step 3: Now that you know what is available and which one you prefer, you can start your search. I would recommend going to the manufacturer's site (if you know the manufacturer) first to get the exact name of the model you prefer. This makes it easier to search.

Go to Google and enter as much information as you have. For example, I searched with the keywords "black rubberized rhinestone iphone 3g case" to find the one that I wanted. You might have to dig through lots of websites to find it, but I have often been successful.

You can also go directly to Amazon and eBay where there are hundreds of 3rd party sellers that might have that one special case for a great price.

Step 4: While you are viewing the cases that you find on the intenet, keep track of the prices at which the cases are listed, but also check out the shipping costs at each site because shipping might negate any savings over buying it locally vs. buying online. Many online sites do not charge tax, however, which is also a factor.

Good luck finding the perfect iPhone case! I was able to find my perfect case at a 50% savings by purchasing on the internet, even after taking shipping into consideration.

33. This question refers to the blue guy you say in question 20. He was looking to the right, which is the top right set of eyes.

34. Tap the targets in a descending order, which means 5, 4, 3, 2, then 1. This question just requires practice and a bit of skill, but you may lose some lives on it.

35. This question refers to the message after completing 20 levels, which says that the answer is the fifth ring down, so, tap the fifth ring down on the left of the page.

47. Use the key shown to you when you completed 10 levels, which is the bottom one. Drag it over to the lock to unlock it (you also received another life for making it this far).

48. In this question, tap the picture of the heart (right picture), then the word clubs, then the word diamonds, and finally the picture of spades (left picture).

49. Answer the message by pressing talk. You will then be told that the pin number is 220, this is used in question 55.

50. Tap on the middle of the right edge to turn the lights on, and then shake your iPhone or iPod touch to destroy this enemy.

50 levels completed! When it says that you are considered other, it is used in the Easter egg questions which you can use the guide to complete by clicking here.

15 Greatest Halloween Party Songs

Ozzy Osbourne

A list like this would not be complete without the awesomeness which is Ozzy Osbourne! This track is from the Bark at the Moon Album recorded in 1983. Ozzy is, of course, most famous for being the lead singer of Black Sabbath and it would be seriously wrong not to include him on this list.

Charlie Daniels Band

We have two firsts on this list things I never thought I would see! One is Marilyn Manson, and the other is country music! It isnt my personal favorite, but this song definitely rates as a classic Halloween party song perfect to get people moving about and dancing. It contains brilliant violin playing by Charlie Daniels and even the most anti-country music people should enjoy it.

The Alan Parsons Project

Granted it isnt the most horrifying song, but it is a tribute to Edgar Allan Poe and provides a nice alternative to some of the heavier music on this list. This is probably the best song to play as your party is nearing an end when people are either too drunk to care what you play, or sober enough to appreciate the lyrics which are taken directly from the Poe poem of the same title.

White Zombie

I have to be honest and admit that I had never heard this song before I started researching this list but it is definitely going to rank high for those of our readers planning a more hardcore party than the others. Also, for those of you who are planning to spread humbug this Halloween, you can play this at a very loud volume and you will frighten all the kids and parents who are trick or treating save on candy costs!

Creedence Clearwater revival

This is a great hit from the 60s which went to number one in the UK. While it is not a particularly scary track, it is, for many people listening, likely to bring back many memories of Halloween parties of the past. This is one of my favorite songs on the list.

This song is a lighthearted song most appropriate for the early stages of your Halloween party. This (and item 3 on the list) is perfect for playing as your guests are arriving and having their first drinks. It is also perfect for a kids Halloween party. And if you want some entertainment for the night, why notwatch the film.

The Addams Family was a 1964 hit series based on cartoons by Charles Addams. The theme will be familiar to most people either through the original series of the much more recently made movie. This is a great quirky hit for your party a definite must-play.

Alice Cooper

This song is from the album of the same name by Alice Cooper. It is a concept album in which each track progressively details the passage of a nightmare. This is the opening track and what could be more perfect for a loud Halloween Party.

Marilyn Manson

Rather than use the original soundtrack version of the song, I have chosen to use the Marilyn Manson version because I like it much more and think it has a better Halloween feel about it. I also love the Panic at the Disco version, but there is no doubt that the Manson version is the spookiest. The song is, of course, the title track of the brilliant TimBurton film The Nightmare before Christmas

Carl Orff

Everyone knows this song it has been used in hundreds of horror movies. While the song sounds very eerie, the translation of the Latin original is not quite so spooky it actually means O Fortune, you wax and wane like the moon. Hardly frightening stuff, but most people dont know what it means and it will chill everyone that hears it to the bone! A definite must-have for Halloween. Oh and it is from the cantata called Carmina Burana.

Anyone who has seen the Exorcist will appreciate the eeriness of this soundtrack. It plays at the start of the film as the main actress walkshome from a day filming. The scene is full of moody shots of Washington in fall with children trick or treating. It lulls you in to a false sense ofsecurity before all hell breaks loose (literally) in the form of possessed girl Regan. This song will always be my favorite Halloween theme.

Warren Zevon

This excellent track by Warren Zevon features drumming by Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. It will be familiar to most people through its constant (over-)use in movies. Everyone will expect to hear this song at a party dont disappoint them.

Bobby Picket

If there is any one song on this list that people will be expecting to see it is this. Monster Mash is a hilarious and fun song from 1962 sung by Bobby Boris Pickett. In a bizarre and rather lame attempt at a comeback, Picket released a spin-off of the song in 2005 called Climate Mash, a version with re-written lyrics about global warming and new vocals which was released on theinternet by the organization Clear the Air. Forget clearing the air for now fill it with spooky mist and party!

J S Bach

Of this most famous piece of classical music, Wikipedia says: The Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565, is a piece of organ music commonly attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, composed sometime between 1703 and 1707. It is one of the most famous works in the organ repertoire, and has been used in a variety of popular media ranging from film, to video games, to rock music, tocellphone ringtonesand used for the autumn holiday Halloween. I doubt a single person here will not know it. Props to Bach for writing music so cool that even non-classical lovers still listen to it 300 years later!

Michael Jackson had to be number one. This track was damned scary when it came out, and it is still damned scary (though perhaps for different reasons now). I am sure that no one will dispute this items placement as number one greatest halloween party song. Allow me to finish with a little inappropriate humor: do you know why Michael Jackson loves Halloween? Free delivery right to his door.

Are you baffled?

So are you constantly baffled by technology?

Do you wonder what the hell something does?

Well you will be pleased to know it is a problem most of us face, and most of us kids who are 'up' on our electrical tech now will face later i life!

There are many things, that even I at 19, cant quite get my head around!

Bluetooth, MP3, MP4, Iphones, Ipods, Hd, Freesat, and of course the old Mega pixels!

Now where to begin?

Firstly thesimplestof rules: If you do not fully understand the technology, then chances are you don't need it at all!

Secondly: If you do need it, talk to someone who understands but always let the know to speak slowly and speak ENGLISH! For jargon or nerd speak, as i like to call it, is useless to most!

BLUETOOTH. Firstly what is bluetooth?

Bluetooth is commonly found now on mobile phones and laptops. Bluetooth is a device, designed for connecting two devices from a short space wirelessly. It could be connecting a mouse to a computer, two mobile phones so they can exchange data (pictures, numbers, sounds that kind of thing). Really it just saves having wires around the place. It is always easy to use and usually just the touch of a button or one click will see the benefits of bluetooth technology. Now we all know that in england it is illegal to talk on a mobile phone and drive at the same time, try telling that to some of the fools on the road today, but the point is blue tooth is there to help. One bluetooth headset (like a microphone that goes round your ear) and you are away. At the press of one button at your ear talk at leisure time is back! You can of course use hands free kits but lets face they need wires and wires are one thing we can do without!

MP3.

Firstly what is mp3?

Mp3 is now usually associated with music players, that kids have sticking from everyorificeand blast don our ears on the train. Actually i would not be without my MP3 player. The ability to just sit back and listen to my favorite tunes is one of life's great wonders! MP3 is simply a music file format which has your music converted to the multi player format so you can listen. It is the third in a series from marcy playground released in march 2004! ( I know seems like just yesterday)

Secondly do we need it? Well the answer is do you like music? If so then this gadget is a must have, however if not, stay away. MP3 players are not expensive in fact you can get a good one for around 20 GBP depending on your the memory size!

MP4.

Firstly what is mp4?

Mp4 is the latest from marcy playground, but as MP3 was for music this file format is usually associated with videos, with and with out sound! It also help to download to an ipod. Now i am not the owner of an MP4 and have no compulsion to do so. MP4 is good for those who not only can afford them but have the time to spend watching what they upload.

Secondly do we need it? Well the answer is not really. An MP3 player that cost less and does mostly the same thing would be moreadvantageousto you. However i am not here to till you what to buy just tell what they do. Please think before you find out if you need these things though.

IPHONES.

What the hell are these i hear you say? Well here is a run down of the Iphone.

An iphone is described as being: a PDA(personal digital assistant), a cell phone, wireless communication device ( sure that's the same thing as a cell phone) a multiplayer, and an internet connectable device!

developed most notably by apple (that's the computer manufacturer). DEsigned to be moreefficientand most compact do more things and help you out in all situations. Oh yes there's and app for that!! Or according to the advert there is, applications to straighten book shelves, work out tips, work out shares of food bills in restaurants. All in all an incredible piece of technology! I make no mistake when I see good stuff I say so!

Do we need the Iphone?

Well again it is all about taste and what you have in the bank. Yes the iphone looks good, internet connection and all that, but a cell phone mostly has internet connection now so what is the point? I must say that even though i am not really one for technology those applications on and the games and the details, well they may sway me but as of yet I am not willing to pay the price!

IPOD?

what is it? Well it is simply a pocket sized media device used for playing music. Though be careful there is more than just the IPOD, there is the: ipod nano, Ipod touch, ipod classic, and the screen less ipod shuffle! Now most of these are i grant you just indulgences, but an ipod is once again good for your music on the go. Though i think for me the bog standard issue Ipod classic is the best, i don't need to watch videos on the go and i don't need touch screen or a nano that is so small i could loose it!!

Do we need it? The answer is that most people will say yes but if you just want the music, then an MP3 player will serve you and your pocket slightly better!

HD.

What is it? well i know that most of you will only need to glance through this section, as most people unless they have been hiding in a cave for the past few years will know what it means! HD is high definition. well that's that sorted then. High definition or HD is just a better way to watch TV, crystal clear picture quality no faded colors just vivid colors and vivid design!

Do we need it? If you have a TV that is HD READY then yes you do need HD but beware only HD channels soprogramsin HD and for that you need cable TV. BBC is the main HD supplier but it is only on the BBC HD channel and not on its normal channels, so be careful when buying!

FREESAT.

What is it?

FREESAT. is freesatelliteTV, brought over the airwaves by BT and sky. More channels than freeview but less than a full sky package. Freesat has also the HD channels i believe.

Do we need it? For the full TVexperienceyes, you do. Again though BEWARE! if you do not have a satellite dish you will not be able to receive freesat. YOu will also need a set top box, check out your local store for those!

Lastly MEGA PIXELS.

Eh what now?

Mega pixels usually associated with acamera. The more mega pixels you have the better your picture will be! A mega pixel is one million pixels is the standard measurement for the resolution of a camera. It can also be used on scanners, and computer screens!

Do we need em? Yes is the answer here we do. BE CAREFUL THOUGH! there is no need to buy the best camera available, because the images with be better with the most mega pixels. Althoughstrictlytrue a 7 mega pixel camera can take pictures that are both clear and precise. After 7 mega pixels the prices jump very steeply upwards and there is no real need for anything better, however if you are looking for that complete photographer hiding in the bushes picture then go higher. Low Stress Level Logic Apps

Glass Tower 2

This game is rather reminiscent of Jenga. It begins with a simple stack of blue and red Jell-O looking cubes. Quickly tap the blue cubes to break them, but try to break the blue cubes with strategy because when all the blue blocks are broken, the red ones must fall. Dont break any red blocks and keep as many red blocks from falling off your platform as you can and youll move up the levels. As you move up the levels youll get color changers (which change the colors of the blocks to make your puzzle a little easier), cube freeze (to hold the red cubes from falling for a moment) gravity control (in which you control your device to keep the blocks from falling down.

As you advance through the levels some of the blocks will turn into triangles, rectangles and roman columns. Its a great game with a low frustration level.

PuzPenguin

So, you have this cute little penguin, some ice cubes, and an ice hole. It looks simple. You begin by sliding the little penguin toward the hole. But the penguin will only slide into the hole if theres something to stop him, forcing him to go into the hole. So you must slide the blocks around until one of them blocks his path and he must slide into the hole. As the levels progress you get ice glaciers which you cant shove the blocks into, however they will stop the penguin. The stress level on this game, however, is very easy to reach. It tends to get frustrating when your sliding around blocks and a penguin. But PuzPenguin is a great game for those who like a challenge, including kids.

Hanoi

This classic game is relaxing and mildly mind engaging. Its more of a relaxation, logic game. The main point is to move your stack of stones from the left side of the screen to the right, with only one rule. You can only stack smaller on top of bigger. So each stone must be moved individually across the screen. The stress level isnt very high on this game but its entertaining I assure you.

Crack the Code

The game that is just like Mastermind just with the option of color code and letter code. You get ten tries to crack the code. Its fairly simple but with three levels. You can choose between six colors and, depending on the level, three to five color slots in a code. Its a great game, mildly stressful but I suggest this for older players.

13 of The Best Games For The Ipad, Iphone And Ipod Touch

Originally when I set out to make this list it was my intention that it be a compilation of the best iPhone games of all time. However, with literally tens of thousands of games available on the platform and hundreds more being released each day via the App Store I realized that there was no way I could claim such authority. Now, to be honest, all such lists are just personal opinion anyways, but without having sampled a larger percentage of available titles (an impossible task for one person) I felt that I would be doing both readers and game publishers a disservice by assigning the iPhone games Id chosen the title of best of all time. The games youll see listed below are the best games Ive personally played, and each and every one of them is a must have app for you iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

Sword & Poker - The great thing about the iPhone platform is that it has really allowed developers to focus on creativity unlike the console game market where developers have to play it safe lest an off-the-wall creation bombs and leaves them financially devastated. The much lower development cost of iPhone games virtually eliminates that risk, and gamers are finally getting the steady stream of unique titles theyve been clamoring for over the past several years.

With Sword & Poker developer Gaia has blended two completely unrelated genres. The game has elements of a traditional RPG where you fight battles and build character stats. However, the combat is unique in that battles are won are lost by building the best poker hands. It is a fun and surprisingly addictive recipe.

A sequel to the original Sword & Poker has recently been released, offering those who couldnt get enough of the original even more RPG card game fun.

Labyrinth - One of the strongest elements of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch games is the ability to quickly and easily jump in to a game for a few minutes. Whether you are on your lunch break, in line at the grocery store, or sitting on the bus you can jump into these games and while away a few minutes.

Labyrinth is the perfect example of such a game. Using the iPhones built-in accelerometers Labyrinth has players tilting their phone in order to steer a metal ball through a maze filled with traps. The concept is simple, but as you advance through the levels the challenges get progressively tougher and your puzzle solving skills will be put to the test. It is at times incredibly frustrating, and you might be tempted to throw your iPhone in disgust. However, its addictive quality will keep you coming back for more, and if you manage to beat the more than 1,000 levels the game offers, you can always pick up its sequel in the App Store.

Words with Friends - Another great aspect of a mobile device that features both Wi-Fi and 3G support is the ability to play games with your friends or online contacts. There are numerous games that offer this option, but one of the best Ive found is Words with Friends.

The game is basically a Scrabble clone, so it is certainly far from unique. However, Scrabble is a classic game that doesnt really need improving. The game features push notifications so you will be notified automatically when your friend has played a word, and it is your turn again. You can have games going against multiple friends at the same time, and oftentimes games will last days or even weeks.

Meteor Blitz - Ever since the success of Geometry Wars back in the early days of Xbox Live Arcade, dual stick space shooters have been enjoying incredible popularity. Dual stick is a bit of a misnomer, as obviously the iPhone and iPad platforms have no physical analog sticks to control, but the touch-screens virtual sticks act as an effective replacement, and it only takes a few minutes to get used to the control scheme.

The game itself bears a striking resemblance to Super Stardust HD on the PS3 an excellent game in its own right. With an impressive 6 unlockable worlds the game offers plenty of depth for a mere $1.99.

iDracula - Speaking of dual stick shooters this one is arguably the best example of the genre currently available on the iPhone. Imagine a perfect blend of Geometry Wars and Diablo. The left stick or wheel controls your movement, while the right one controls the direction of your fire as you blow away enemies with a variety of weapons ranging from handguns to the all-powerful BFG.

The graphics in the game are top-notch, the music is awesome and the action is absolutely non-stop. For those looking for 15 minutes or less of arcade mayhem, iDracula certainly fits the bill.

Canabalt - If youve played the flash game on your PC then youve essentially played the iPhone version. There is very little depth to this game, but what is there is surprisingly addictive, and youll find yourself constantly restarting for just one more try. The game is essentially a side-scroller where you control a guy running across roof tops, trying to stay one step ahead of an invading alien force. Several obstacles get in the way of your progress, and youll need to leap boxes and smash through windows without falling off the edge of one of the buildings. Your character is constantly running and you time his jumps by tapping the screen. The game ends when you fall, and your score is indicated by the number of meters you travel before you die. It might not sound like much fun, but trust me when I say that Canabalt is one of the most addictive games youll find for the iPhone, or any game platform for that matter.

Lets Golf - In my opinion, the iPhone isnt the ideal platform for sports games. These games are best played on a big screen, with big sound, and a bunch of buddies crowded around, trash-talking and throwing controllers at one another in anger.

That being said, there are some decent sports titles on the iPhone, and Lets Golf is one of the best. Very similar in presentation and game-play to the popular Hot Shots Golf series, Lets Golf can hold its own very well against full-fledged console golf titles. With multiple control methods, a plethora of game-play modes, local hotseat and Wi-Fi multiplayer options and plenty of unlockable courses the game delivers some of the best value to be had from the App Store. If you are a fan of golf games then this is one title that absolutely has to be in your iPhone game library.

Shrek Kart - Some might raise eyebrows at this titles inclusion on the list. I wanted to include one racing game, and though many would point to Real Racing or one of the multiple Need for Speed titles available for the platform I actually found I enjoyed this little kart racer a great deal more.

If you are a gear head who wants the most true-to-life, realistic racing experience out there, then this will probably not be your first choice. However, if you are one of the legions of gamers who loved playing Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing back in the day, then this title will very much appeal to you. Kids will love playing as one of several characters from the immensely popular animated films. Yes it has the dreaded rubberband AI, but all in all this is a fun title with local multiplayer action that will allow you to trash-talk your friends just like you did back in the day with Mario Kart.

Doodle Jump - I mentioned above what an addictive experience the game Canabalt is well, trust me when I say it has nothing on Doodle Jump. If you take my advice and purchase this title beware that your daily productivity, your social life and perhaps even your personal hygiene are going to suffer. Yes, the game really is that addictive.

Much like Canabalt the premise is simple. Your mission is to get your little Q-Bertesque character as high as possible by jumping on a series of platforms. You will automatically jump as you hit each platform and you can tilt the iPhone to control your trajectory, helping you avoid enemies as you head for the stratosphere.

The graphics are simplistic yet stylish, and kids will love the crayon detail of the main character, the enemies, and the surroundings. At only 99 cents Doodle Jump is an absolute no-brainer, and if you have only one game in your library make it this one.

Sword of Fargoal - If you are a glutton for punishment and are one of those gamers who can handle an unforgiving game with a high difficulty level without going insane then youll probably enjoy Sword of Fargoal.

Similar in style to games like Rogue and Nethack, Sword of Fargoal is a pure dungeon crawler. Essentially a port of an old Commodore 64 game, this addictive hack and slash game has you controlling your character down through 20 dungeon levels to retrieve the legendary Sword of Fargoal. If you manage to overcome the legions of enemies sent to stop you and actually manage to get your paws on said sword then you have a set time limit to get the sword back to the surface. Difficult? Yes. Addictive? Absolutely!

With 28 different monster types, tons of spells, potions, weapons and special abilities the combat is amazingly deep for the genre. The graphics are great, the sound and music are immersive, and the dungeon randomization engine will ensure you get virtually unlimited replayability as your adventure will change radically on each and every attempt.

Flight Control - Created by Firemint, the same studio that released the excellent Real Racing, Flight Control is yet another example of how great gameplay will trump glitz and graphics every time. The gameplay is dead simple you simply swipe your finger to control the flight paths of planes and get them to land safely on the runway without colliding with any other planes along the way.

As with many games of this type the description just does not do it justice. Check out YouTube for a gameplay video, or better yet, simply buy the game and try it for yourself! At only 99 cents you cant really go wrong.

Zenonia - Though Ive touched upon the RPG genre with games like Sword & Poker and Sword of Fargoal, this is the first pure RPG on the list, and in the opinion of many it is the best RPG available on the iPhone to date. There is no question that Zenonia offers far more depth than any other game on this list, boasting more than 40 hours of gameplay.

Similar in style to the old Super Nintendo Final Fantasy games, this is old school console RPG gaming at its best. With tons of quests, monsters, an insane amount of spells, potions and power-ups and a detailed skill tree system for character building the game manages to stay fresh from beginning to end.

If you finish Zenonia and are craving more, then the news gets even better. The game has a sequel. I havent played it myself yet, but early reports claim that the sequel is every bit as good as the original. If you are as old school 16 bit console RPG gamer then definitely pick up this game.

Skee-Ball - The final game on my list of must have iPhone games is another port (of sorts). No, it is not a port of a classic console video game, but rather a virtualization of the popular arcade standard, Skee-Ball.

Yes, this is the game that you see in musty old arcades, at carnivals, or at Circus Circus in Las Vegas where you roll a small wooden ball up a ramp, and attempt to get it in one of a series of concentric circles to score points. Depending on how many points you score in the game the machine spits out a corresponding number of tickets that you can then redeem for any number of goofy prizes.

The iPhone version of the game stays true to classic concept of the game. You use your finger to swipe the ball up the screen. You get 9 balls to try and score as many points as you can.

The game keeps a running tally of your tickets, and just like a real arcade you can use them to purchase virtual loot from the in-game store. Most of the stuff is just miscellaneous junk, but you can purchase different skee-balls that will appear in gameplay itself. The game also keeps track of the tickets youve earned all time and will keep you updated, showing you your spot on the all time online ticket leaderboard every time you exit the game.

All in all, Skee-Ball ranks just behind Doodle Jump (for me) as the most addictive app on my iPhone. Whether you are a fan of the arcade game, or just looking for a good time waster definitely pick this 99 cent app up.

There you have it, my list of 13 of the best iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch games available. Obviously it is far from a comprehensive list, but it gives you a great starting point. You can own all of these classics for less money than a single console game, so the value here is incredible. Yes, mobile gaming is here to stay, and I, for one, cant wait to see what the future holds for touchscreen gaming.

Replacing The Human Being

It seems as though the good folks in Thailand are planning ahead to avoid labor and health care issues. Someone has come up with the bright idea of introducing high tech robots to their dining establishments, in loo of an actual human being. I am sure there are many benefits to this action, not the least of which might be the fact that Robots are more efficient, they do not require breaks, therefore productivity will increase. While mechanical issues may play into the equation, generally the Robot will be more reliable than a human that may otherwise call in sick. And of course, the age old question of tipping the Robot will not be an issue, so the customer saves money too.

With all those benefits, you would think that companies would be rushing to replace their troublesome, always late, stealing food, bad attitude, must have insurance employees as quickly as possible! The problem that I see with that decision is this, if we replace all the human beings with high-tech Robots, then who will buy from us. Many of these food service and other various kinds of employees, just happen to be our customers too. One of the major reasons for more job opportunities is to increase your customer base, more employees mean more customers, which eventually mean more income for everyone.

Even though these high-tech Robots may save a few dollars here and there, I suggest that any business contemplating their use, think long and hard before taking the plunge. While the novelty and efficiency may pan out in the initial stages, it will come back to haunt you in the long run, both financially and socially.

Digital Camera Price Range in India (Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Kodak, Benq, Olympus)

Until last few years Digital Cameras were a prized possession of rich class people. With consumer electronics products going down in price every year and with increasing competition between the product makers, we now have a wide range of electronic products especially digital still cameras to choose from. It happens that whatever may be your requirement for the camera you are likely to find a camera suiting your needs within your budget. It does not matter whether you are looking for a camera in Indiaor trying to buy from foreign markets. It can turn out that net cost will be less on cheaper cameras if bought domestically.

The various specs of the digital camera such as resolution (mega-pixels), optical zoom (or digital zoom), display size (LCD), F number, focal length, focus range, battery life, in-build memory or external mem. support capacity, still/video capability, image formats, compression ratios, shutter speeds, aperture, auto/manual/smart modes, etc. are only few but most distinguished features of the cameras a buyer would look for. Other than this the brand such as Nikon, Canon, Sony, Kodak too make a large impact on the decision made by the buyer.

While the amateur photographer looks to buy a simple point and shoot camera, adventurous or professional photographer would look to buy very expensive DSLR type cameras with very convenient and advanced features that suit their profession. While there is a lot to capture from the nature around us, some clever photographers capture amazing photographs using point and shoot cameras which look like having a professional touch.

The high end digital cameras have extensive features that make the point and shoot cameras limited in their use. At the same time they are highly expensive costing from Rs. 28,000 to above Rs. 1 Lakh. Video cameras such as ones used in movies cost in multiples of lakhs. For a professional photographer looking for a good DSLR camera must budget about Rs. 50,000 atleast. Nikon and Canon are the most popular ones in this arena.

The medium end digital cameras targeting most of the Indian market are the point and shoot cameras. These can range in their features along with their price from as low as Rs. 3800 to as high as > Rs. 20,000. The limitation to the cost comes from the Display which costs atleast Rs. 1500. Kodak, Polaroid, BenQ, Olympus, Lumix, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Casio, Sony (Cybershot), Canon (Powershot), etc. are the popular brands in this arena.

While the cheapest yet good featured camera can be bought at Kodaks CD14 in the range of 3400-3800 rupees, depending on the showroom or the city (Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai). The limitations to these cameras may be battery size (camera size) or the lesser shutter speed or less number of auto modes, they are still good for a variety of uses.

If one wants to for the cheapest range of cameras one should look for display-less cameras that are priced only for the camera use. SENSEI has the lowest cost digital still camera at Rs. 999 with 0.3 Mega-pixel resolution and higher resolutions (2MP) for higher costs. Polaroid offers some cameras but may not be available at any of the Indian stores. All cameras easily available in the market now are above 5MP resolution.

If you want to go expensive, you have no barrier. Every camera is worth it if you use it for right application. If you want to go inexpensive for a gift or personal use, dont go below Kodak CD14 (Rs. 3400) unless Kodak launches new one below this price to beat this (they often do that and CD14 is the latest).

Protections For The Smartphone Iphone

Many types of cases exist today and are made of different materials to protect our iPhone leather jewel cases, cases in silicon through the cases of crystal and gold! For each of iPhone owners, there will be a cover that will be perfectly adequate. By purchasing a cover for your iPhone, you will not only perfectly preserved a smartphone but you can also shine in society with a beautiful leather sheath and up to date.

Like many other gadgets present today in the stores, the iPhone is an excellent instrument to deal with when bored. The iPhone is an expensive smartphone whose cost can easily exceed a few hundred dollars (by not taking subscription) and its owner must absolutely preserve it with a case of a perfect design. These Leather covers are made so well they protect the iPhone, whatever its position or manipulation.

But now there are many types of case for these brave smartphones: the flexible caskets are not selling very expensive and preserve the mobile to a minimum, the protections hard plastic fully effective against streaking and luxurious leather cases that protect the iPhone with a completely impossible to finesse have on other types of case thanks to the leather that is.

These leather cases optimized specifically for the iPhone are also available with a folding which effectively protects the screen from bumps and streaks. In addition, their usability is often exceptional. But there is a backlash because the premium cost sleeves steep but as we teach our common sense: the quality, it is paid.

Since the company has Apple sold the first iPhone, smartphone astronomical amounts have been sold and the Apple brand is now recognized and carried in high esteem worldwide. Despite this dominance, Apple does not offer real protection in leather to protect his miniature masterpieces. Many designers of leather cases for iPhone 3G will be placed on the market left in the lurch by Apple.

But increasingly, luxury also wanted to take advantage of this lucrative segment by selling luxury iPad sleeves made with unusual materials and unaffordable as diamonds and gold. When you finally decide to pay you a case for your iPhone, many factors must first be studied. First, the cover should fit completely the shape of your pocket.

Also take care that the plastic is not too bulky and does not bother you when you need to take it with you and when you're having fun with your iPhone. Then, make sure that the protection includes protection for the screen of the smartphone (better).

Leather covers with a protective flap that are best suited for this. Finally, shop around to provide you with a sheath made well enough that you do not move for someone too "old school" when you remove your iPhone from the case ...

Iphone/ipad Winter Accessories

Does your iPhone or iPod need a set of galoshes or a heavy winter coat? Likely not; unless you're a little bit eccentric. That does not mean that there are not some great iPhone and iPod accessories that should be of great interest to you over the winter seasons.

iPhone Apps/ iPod Songs

Besides being a physical change in weather the winter season is often a lot about attitude. One way to enhance his attitude is to make both your iPhone and iPod targeted for the season. There are many songs can be downloaded for your iPod of the seasonal nature. Even easier are iPhone apps. There are thousands of iPhone apps out there. If you can think of it there's likely an app for it. Putting a few holiday and seasonal apps on your iPhone can certainly make, the season bright. After all, on a cold winter night, wouldn't it be nice to have an app that shows you warm winter drink recipes that you could make?

Hard iPhone/iPod Case

If you drop your iPhone or iPod, it cracks and water or moisture get inside this voids the warranty. Not a good thing to happen to your shiny sparkly toy! A hard case for these items will eliminate that issue. Hard cases offer the most protection, but there are also silicon cases and clear cases. All of these offer far greater protection than a naked unit. It is a good idea to have a case for your electronics all year-round buttons Pacifica good during the cold and wet winter seasons.

Screen protectors

One of the coolest things about the new iPhones and iPods are the cool screens. Gone are the screens of yesterday that simply showed you what you wanted to see. Todays screens are interactive and both protect and enhance your experience with your iGadget. These screens, range from clear protectors that simply keep scratches, moisture and dirt off of the screen to anti-glare options to even more nifty and cool, screen saver type of options.

Bluetooth and iPod remote

It cannot be best if you have your hands available while walking and moving about. This does not mean that you do not want to listen to music or talk on the phone the same time. One way to get around this is to have either a Bluetooth for your iPhone or a remote for your ear-buds on your iPod. These nifty gadgets will make walking and talking a breeze. Now all you have to do is rub your belly and chew gum!

They may not be galoshes, a big furry winter coat and a knitted cap for your iPod but certain iPod/iPhone accessories can keep both you and your iPhone/iPod safe during the winter seasons.

Review of Jensen Jips-250I Rocker Docking Station For The Ipad, Ipod + Iphone

I got an iPad this Christmas, and immediately had a list of accessory's that I wanted for it. A charge/docking station was the very first thing I wanted, possibly even needed.

I instantly became a die-hard hooked fan to my iPad, and found that leaving it on its back while charging with the tiny wall plug it came with would eventually land my iPad into some

trouble. Water spills, someone maybe leaving something on it, or some curious idiot picking it up and dropping it.

I figured a docking station would keep it nicely secured, while it was plugged in waiting for me to use it.

I searched intensely for one, and every store I looked had nothing but kickstand type frames, which would work, but at the same time they did not come with a wall plug, and they cost way too much money. For a stand alone, Best Buy was asking for around $55.00, which is just ridiculous considering it did not do anything beneficial for me, or my iPad.

I began to search for docking stations with speakers instead, and could not find anything available in stores, until finally I was about to give up and just order one online for $200.00 from iHome. Thankfully that same day, I came across the Jensen JiPS-250i Rocker Docking Station for the iPad, iPod + iPhone, sitting beautifully in a glass case in a local Target, and get this, it was on sale for just $10.00 more dollars than Best Buys non-efficient stand.

The Jensen JiPS-250i Rocker Docking Station for the iPad, iPod + iPhone was even more awesome than I imagined it would be. It allows you to place your iPad into its frame securely, while it charges your iPad. Not only that though it rotates and tilts allowing you to view your screen at any old angle you want.

The base is made of plastic, and it is where the speakers reside at the sides of it. The base though is nice and sturdy, and will hold your iPad securely leaving no worry in your mind that it will tip over, or be too top heavy for the base to handle. It works perfectly, and I no longer have to worry about it getting hurt.

The problem I have with this Rocker though is that it will not allow me to place my iPad into the appropriate slots unless I remove my iPads protective case, which I bought earlier that week. I have to remove the case, exposing the iPad, which I do not like, especially when I remove the iPad from the dock to use it on the go. I hate having to reattach it to its protective sleeve every time. Granted it is not such a huge flaw, that renders the docking station useless. Its just an aggravation that I am sure they will work on for their next release.

Start Up

The moment you put the iPad into the dock it will ask you to download a free application that comes with the Rocker. If you do not download it, the station will ask you if you want to download it every time you remove, and replace the iPad back into its slot. Its annoying, and eventually you will just download it to make the notice go away for good.

The application is cool though, and features a clock, radio, alarm, weather, and so on. I however already had separate apps for these features, so it was useless to me. Instead of removing the Rockers app though, I simply removed the other separate ones and kept this one, as it seemed more efficient, and laid out more properly.

The glitchy thing that I did not like about the app though was that it needed to be running in order for the alarm to work. Like most alarm apps though. I had no use for an alarm clock though, but for those who do... don't expect this one to wow you, and remember to keep it running.

Sound:

The sound quality on the Jensen JiPS-250i Rocker Docking Station for the iPad, iPod + iPhone is definitely not going to wow you, and I found the quality to sound hollow, as if voices were trapped within the plastic base. It does not sound horrible, but it definitely does not sound all that great, so do not expect to drop your stereo for this fellow.

Overall:

For me, I needed it just to charge my iPad, while keeping it secure and in place. For me this station was a work of art. The fact that the app came with it is neat, but not necessary. The sound quality could be improved on, but other than that I have no complaints. It gets the job done, and the power chord is long enough as to where I can actually set it on a desk, and plug it into the wall, unlike the one that came with the iPad made by Apple. The problem I have with this Rocker though is that it will not allow me to place my iPad into the appropriate slots unless I remove my iPads protective case, which I bought earlier that week.

Great Christmas gifts under $100

TORONTO - Here's a sampling of high-tech gift ideas in the following categories: video gaming, digital photography and video, and under $100.

VIDEO GAMING

-Consoles: Future Shop predicts a recent $100 price cut to the Sony Playstation 3 will make it the most popular console among shoppers. It's priced at $299. The basic version of the Xbox 360 is $199, while for an extra $100, the Elite bundle includes a built-in hard drive for saving content and two games, "Lego Batman" and "Pure." The Nintendo Wii is $209 and is a good option for families or less serious gamers who don't need the latest and greatest technology.

-Big games: Among the hottest titles of the season are "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" for the PS3, "Assassins Creed 2" for the PS3 and Xbox 360, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and "New Super Mario Bros." for the Wii.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO

-Slim, compact cameras: A full-fledged digital SLR camera won't fit into the budgets of most shoppers, but it's incredible what even a couple hundred dollars will buy in a digital camera today. Even the most-demanding wannabe photographers can appreciate the slim and compact cameras that can go anywhere and slip in a pocket, unlike the bulkier high-performance models. You can't really go wrong with brands like Canon, Nikon and Sony, especially when you're paying less than $200 for an eight-to-10 megapixel camera.

-Fractions of pennies per megabyte of storage: The prices of memory cards have plummeted in recent years, making the storage media a cheap yet much-appreciated gift or stocking stuffer. A two-or four-gigabyte card is plenty of storage for a casual photographer and can be had for $15 to $30. For a budding photographer who's getting serious about their hobby, look into an external hard drive so they can store and backup all their shots. For under $100 you can buy somewhere between 300 and 500 gigabytes of storage, enough space for tens of thousands of photos.

-HD in your pocket: Pocket-sized HD camcorders are growing popular and start around the $200 mark. The Flip brand of cameras are quickly becoming known for their convenient and easy shooting of high-quality digital video.

GIFTS FOR UNDER $100

-A non-Apple MP3 player: The iPod is still the indisputable king of MP3 players but there are cheaper options that do virtually the same job. Sony's 8GB E Series Walkman MP3 player handles music and video just like an iPod but sells for less than $100, compared to about $160 for an iPod Nano.

-Digital picture frames: It's getting to the point where almost everyone has a digital camera but the same can't be said for digital frames. Now that they've been on the market for a few years, digital frames come in a large range of prices and sizes. Find a higher-resolution model (look for 800 x 480, 800 x 600, or 1024x600) for someone who takes care with every shot and will want to display their photos in all their glory. Lower-resolution models can be found for $50 or less and will still impress your less tech-savvy friends and family members.

-Remote control management: Juggling two remotes is a pain, when you get to four or five it's a nightmare. It's not uncommon for the average home entertainment setups to now have at least three remotes; one for the TV, a digital set-top box and a DVD or Blu-ray player. Logitech's Harmony 510 is one of several universal remotes on the market that will consolidate all your remotes into one, while maintaining most if not all of the functionality of each clicker. The Harmony 510 can be found for just under $100.

-Apple Nike + iPod Sport Kit: If you know a runner or gym rat who has an iPhone, iPod Nano or iPod Touch check out the Apple Nike + iPod Sport Kit, which sells for $39 through Apple. The wireless device tracks how far and how fast you run and can upload the data online to track performance. Technically, you're supposed to buy a special pair of Nike+ shoes to make it work but there are workarounds. For just $10, you can buy a pouch from Runningfree.com that holds the device and attaches to the laces of any running shoes. And other users have said simple packing tape might also do the job.

Iphone 4G Launched in India

Eleven months after Apple's next-generation smartphone hit stores worldwide, the iPhone 4 was launched on Friday in India, the world's second biggest market for mobile phones.

Mobile phone carrier Aircel launched the iPhone 4 with a new pricing model, allowing customers to recover the upfront cost of the smartphone on select plans over 24 months, the company said in a press release. Aircel will charge Rs 34,500 for iPhones with a 16 GB capacity and Rs 40,900 for the 32 GB model, it said.

Bharti Airtel also launched the phone.

Declaring the roll-out of one of the most expected smartphones in the world by Bharti airtel here and in 34 other cities in India, Airtel CEO (West Bengal and Orissa) P D Sharma told media the iPhone 4 will create a separate space from the clutter of smartphones in the market, many of them having copied Apple features.

"iPhone 4 will stand out for its original applications and cater to the middle segment as well, with attractive pricing which will not create a pinch both in the long and short term," Sharma said on the sidelines of the launch here.

Asked about the delay of almost one year in the product arriving in India after its June launch in the US, Sharma said, "With third generation ( 3g) mobile networks only coming of age in recent times in India, there was no other option but the iPhone 4 to wait."

"The handset will be priced at Rs 34,500 with 16-GB capacity and Rs 40,900 with 32-GB capacity, which is attractive considering the long-term use. The set is powered by Apple's A4 (operating system), boasts of a retina display, FaceTime for video chat, 5-MP rear facing camera with LED flash and HD video recording," he said.

The iPhone 4 boasts a higher-quality screen and longer battery life than the previous model, he said, adding that Bharti already sells earlier models of the iPhone in India.

"With the high number of mobile users, smartphone market will grow in the country," he said.

The iPhone 4 was launched way back in June in the US, followed by other countries.

To the question if the pricing would offset the buying of the model at inflated rates over and above the $ 1500 price tag from the grey market, Sharma said that stage seems to have been over.

The iPhone 4 was launched in the city by Tollywood actress Paoli Dam, who was among the 35 celebrities in different cities of the country gifted a handset on the occasion of the launch.

"I am happy to possess one iPhone 4 from today. I have also been given a favourite number by Airtel, which I can memorise very easily. I am sure this handset will become a part of my accessory," Dam told media.

About whether she had been using Apple products earlier, the actress said, "I had been using Apple Mac."

Iphone War Craze. Verizon or At&t

I'm sure you've already heard that Verizon announced on Tuesday, 1/11/11, that they will begin selling Apple's iPhone 4 in early February. For everyone battling the Blackberry with Verizon, and the constant battery pulling, and all those other issues, there will also be a few new issues with your Verizon iPhone 4. Did we think it would be perfect?

The guts of the Verizon iPhone will not be the same one that is sold by AT&T. They may look a lot similar, maybe even identical on the outside, but the real issue is the core of the phone. Really, do you care what the antennae on the outside looks like?

Verizon's network uses different technology than AT&T. I think that's a no brainer, but Apple has had to adapt their phone to accommodate Verizon's network. That means this is a first generation Verizon iPhone. Remember back to the first generation iPhone with AT&T? They had their issues, but they've ironed them out; right? Be prepared to have some with Verizon, just sayin!

According to Daniel S. Mead, Chief Executive of Verizon Wireless, their networks use a CDMA technology (not that that matters to the average joe), which cannot transmit voice and data at the same time. Well, that certainly matters to the average joe! We can figure out that Verizon iPhone users won't be able to look up those directions or check their e-mail while on a call, like in all those iPhone commercials with AT&T (which incidentally, I happen to enjoy. I love the one where they're on the train, and . . .

The Verizon's version is said to not be working as well in all countries. What countries? No ones saying! AT&T uses GSM technology. (Again, the average joe really doesn't care about that. We just want it work!)

Other than those simple issues, they'll work pretty much the same. All those apps! All those apps! All just waiting for me to purchase them to my iPhone. The excitement is hardly containable. But when? When can I get this handheld gem? When can I start "rethinking my possibilities?"

If you're already an existing Verizon customer, you can start ordering yours on February 3, 2011, and anyone else that wants to switch over to Verizon can start ordering theirs on February 10, 2011.

Verizon will be selling the iPhone at $199 with a two-year contract for the 16 gigabyte phone. The 32-gigabyte phone will be $299. Hey, that's the same price as the AT&T iPhone! If Im already on AT&T, I may be thinking Im not switching right about now.

Verizon has not yet determined the pricing on the data plans for the iPhone, but I'll bet it won't be any less inexpensive than the AT&T package. I'll bet it will be a penny or two off the price of the AT&T phones, because they'll want you to think you have the same thing for a better price; even if it is only a penny. Isnt that how Walmart gets away with advertising they are the lowest prices?

So if you're happy with your AT&T iPhone, don't jump ship right away. The only way to use the iPhone with the fastest speed, talk & use those phenomenal apps (Oh, my! The anticipation!) and the "unsurpassed global coverage as only AT&T can deliver," is to use AT&T.

There are whispers that it's possible Verizon will offer something that AT&T doesn't provide (What? Something more to compare? You mean I may have to start weighing the pros and cons?) Verizon may be offering a Wi-Fi connection to as many as five laptops and other devices by piggybacking on the iPhone's cellular data connection. This is getting rather technical now!

Seriously! This is starting to become very exciting! Of course, this would cost an additional, unspecified monthly amount. (Okay, I'm getting a little scared with that "undetermined" figure.)

Verizon's iPhone will be on their 3G network. We've all heard the hype on the "NEW 4G NETWORK," and it wasn't even an AT&T commercial! So why isn't Verizon on board with the 4G? I think Apple is just staying loyal to AT&T. My opinion, maybe we need to also..or at least until those bugs can be figured out!

Happy apping!
