The legendary iPod is a ground-breaking device featuring the outmost reliability and overall quality performance. Transferring music from iTunes to your iPod is a fairly easy deal, but what about the other way around? Your PC has crushed and your entire music library is saved on your precious iPod. Relax! No need to start screaming as there is an easy way to transfer music to iTunes straight from your iPod.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Download iTunes

If you do not already have iTunes installed at your computer, then you can download it for free at: /itunes/. Download the program only from the official Apple web site to avoid the risk of viruses. Follow the instructions given, install iTunes and reboot your computer.

2. Connect the iPod

Connect the iPod to your pc via a USB 2.O or the FireWire 400 cable that comes along with your device. Choose a high-speed port to enable transfer ratio minimizing the total sync time. Once your computer detects your iPod, iTunes will instantly launch. If not, then launch iTunes manually by clicking on the icon on your desktop.

3. Locate the iPod Files on Your Pc

If everything is set up correctly, iTunes will automatically detect your iPod and ask you if you wish to sync both devices. Click on No. Sync may actually wipe everything off from your iPod while transferring them to your computers hard drive. After you skip auto-sync, go to My Computer icon on your desktop and click open. Your iPod will be detected as an F drive and will be displayed with the official Apple logo.

4. Transfer Music Files to iTunes

Access the iPod files by clicking on the Organize or Hidden Files tab (depending on your windows running system). Then go to options and choose View files and folders. Once all folders are visible, you will then be able to access the iPod Control folder. Right click on it, choose Open and locate the music folder.

Once you are done, create a new folder on your desktop naming it any way you want. Copy-paste or drag the files from the music folder on the new folder on your desktop. Once the pasting is done, open iTunes and save the new music folder on your desktop into iTunes library by clicking Import Music Library.

You are now able to sync your iPod to iTunes. You can also edit your music library, create new playlists or edit the existing ones or create backups without fearing of losing all of your files!
