So you heard that writing iPhone apps was easy?
Can't wait to finish your first app and see the money begin to role in?
But then reality dawns as you begin to research for the tools you will need to create a money making application.
Writing iPhone apps is only easy if you are a software developer and have been using Apples development tools for some time. Otherwise, you're in for a massive learning curve that now makes the idea of creating a quick little app more hassle than it's worth.
I faced this very same problem some months ago.
I wanted to create an iPhone app that would direct users to Amazon to by MP3's.
Each order received would pay into my Amazon Partner Account.
I thought, this would be a winner.
But "How do I make an app" was the very first question I had to answer.
You see, I'm not a software developer and do not have any technical skills other than being able to work the timer on my old VHS player.
So I began to look to the tools I would need to make the app.
Well iPhone apps are written in a language called "Objective C". Now that's great if you have experience in this language, but like millions before me, I had never even heard of it let alone used it.
I have to say I spent over 3 week reading and trying to create my first app.
Eventually, I gave up it was just too hard for me to comprehend.
I know this is a short article but I just wanted to inform you that when that question pops into your head, "How do I make an app". Forget it or look for a tool that is created for newbies.
In the end I found the time and effort need to make the app was not going to make me enough money to warrant it.
