The iPod, a brand name of media player designed and sold by Apple Inc, has been recognized as a widely sought-after digital gadget all over the world for many years. The unique outlook and wonderful features have made the gadget a landmark in the developmental history of media players. Lots of youngsters are crazy about the media player and take it as a fashion symbol. Nowadays, an iPod does not cost as much as before anymore, and wholesale iPod models has turned out an increasingly profitable business opportunity.

The first iPod item was officially released on October 23, 2001. Until now, iPod has come out with a variety of models which includes Shuffle, Nano, Classic and Touch, each of which has its distinctive characteristics. At the beginning, a model of iPod cost as high as $400, which blocked away a substantial range of potential clients. Over time, to meet the increased demands for cost-effective and multi-feature portable digital players, Apple launched several new iPod models. These models, of course, update with innovative bodies and more helpful features like PC support and color display, which are not only attractive to general clients but affordable to these users. The updates quickly made iPod an unbeatable giant in the music players market. At present items belonging to the iPod family have remained a bestseller among all same category items in many countries.

The promotions of iPod are thought to have contributed a significant part to the popularity of iPod. These years, we witnessed many advertisements about iPod showing one after another. Almost every ad copy about iPod features the coolest tunes playing in the background, which is not only robust but also remarkably creative.

2 years ago, Apple launched the multi-feature cell phone iPhone in America. This intellective model of cell phone is in practice a combination of 2 devices: a mobile phone and an iPod model. Soon the first iPod model with touch screen, the iPod touch, was released, resorting to the multi-touch graphical touch screen feature of iPhone. Besides, the iPod touch is also the first iPod model enabling Internet access via the Wi-Fi wireless network. Viewed from this trend, we can see that Apple is endeavoring to transform the iPod from simply a music player into a PC-based multi-media player which supports music files, Internet capacities.
