Apple iPhone 4 - Providing Endless Possibilities Thanks To The AppStore

Since its release this summer, the Apple iPhone 4 has proven to be the most popular product launch for Apple. This was hardly a surprise, thanks to Apple's continual development of the iPhone. A long list of improvements on existing features, as well as a number of new features has resulted in millions of happy iPhone users.

As with the 3GS, the previous version of the iPhone, the layout of the external hardware remains the same. The top of the handset accommodates a 3.5mm audio jack, as well as the keypad lock/power key. The left side of the phone has volume and mute switches, whilst the bottom of the phone has the USB/charger port. The front of the phone is dominated by the large retina touchscreen, with the home button located just below this. The corners of the phone are slightly more angular than the previous iPhone, and it is also slimmer at 9.3mm, making it one of the thinnest phones available.

Access to the internet is very fast on a Wi-Fi or 3G connections, and easy to navigate thanks to pinch zooming being a feature of the Safari Web Browser. Speeds of up to 7.2Mbps can be reached through a Wi-Fi connection thanks to HSDPA.

The camera on the iPhone 4 is a big improvement on previous models, offering 5MP which operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels. Unlike other iPhone models, this comes with a flash, as well as the standard features such as autofocus, touch focus and geo-tagging.

The screen is an impressive feature, utilising retina technology allowing HD to be displayed in all its glory. A pixel layout of 640x 960 allows this thanks to its ability to display up to 16 million colours. This makes for unsurpassed levels of clarity and quality when viewing video and photos. The touchscreen aspect of the screen is also among the most advanced available, utilising TFT capacitive touchscreen technology with virtually no lag, tanks to the powerful Apple A4 1GHz processor, the same processor as found in the iPad.

The AppStore allows endless possibilities when it comes to customisation, productivity and entertainment. Standard applications include iTunes and iPod for music playing, YouTube and Google Maps Apps as well as a whole host of other features.

There are now hundreds of thousands of Apps to choose from, so users can truly make their Apple iPhone 4 their own, so it can be whatever the user wants it to be. This is the beauty of the iPhone, along with the fact that free software updates are regularly released, meaning it is in a constant state of improvement, something which very few phones can boast.
